Introduced the short vowel /i/

• Blended "it" words (sit, fit, mit, etc.)
• Read The Three Bears and made puppets and the setting of the story then acted it out.
• Read the story "Dear Juno" about a boy who communicates with his grandmother in Seoul through picture letters(no words).  We discussed letter writing and will have an opportuntity to write letters next week.

  Math

• Learned about congruent shapes (same size and same shape) 
• Used pattern blocks to represent congruent shapes and then glued flat pattern blocks on paper to show same size and shape.
• Discovered how to make shapes from other shapes (i.e. two trapezoids can form a hexigon)

Science

Our plants are really beginning to show growth.  We are taking care of our plants by watering them when needed.

Handwriting

This week we learned how to properly form the capital letter I and the lowercase i.

Computer Lab
